Ideas
You don’t need to know which book an idea belongs to before you write it down. Keep Ideas in Home, organize them with folders and tags, search their contents, and add images or other attachments.
When an Idea finds its purpose, bring it directly into almost any open text area in OpusWriter with a push of a button. The original stays in Home, so using it in one place doesn’t prevent it from finding another use later.
Progress across your projects
When word count is the only measure of progress, cutting words during editing can make a productive day look like failure. Home records the work, not just the size of the manuscript when you’re done.
If an editing session adds 600 words and cuts 500, your manuscript may be only 100 words longer, but you worked through 1,100 words. Home records both.
Drafting, editing additions, editing cuts, total words worked, and net change remain separate. View that activity across your entire writing life or narrow it to a particular project or book.

When you write
See how your work develops over time, including drafting, additions, and cuts. Home can also show which days and hours you tend to write, how much you usually accomplish in a writing day, and how your recent pace may carry forward.

Goals, reminders, and deadlines
Book deadlines appear on the same calendar as the goals, reminders, and notes you create in Home. Open any day to add something new, pin important commitments where you can’t miss them, and mark them complete when they’re done.

The project shelf keeps every book and series within reach. See word totals, project status, the books within a series, and what you opened most recently. Open one and get back to work.
